Growing up can be really difficult sometimes. It can feel like everything is changing all at once! Maybe you’ve just moved across town and started a new school. Perhaps you had a fight with a parent, friend, or worse… a frenemy. Maybe you just changed your style and are wondering if your new style really expresses who you truly are.
In moments like these, when something is really bugging you, it can be helpful to ask for a second opinion from someone you trust. Like a parent, teacher, your best friend, etc. Sometimes, however, it can be difficult to find the right words to express how you’re feeling about this particular situation, especially if you feel ashamed or embarrassed. So we here at Kiss Naturals, have created a free printable that makes asking for advice a little bit easier!
How to Use your Second Opinion Journal:
1.Starting with the section called “Here's the Issue”, write down in as much detail what the issue is.
Example: “I am struggling in math class and it makes me feel stupid.”
2.In the section called “Here’s How I Might Fix It”, think of different ways you could solve your problem. Maybe there are a couple solutions or maybe there aren’t any that you can think or maybe the only solutions you can think of involve winning the lottery and moving to Mars. Hey, that’s okay.
Example: “Get a math tutor”, “Watch math tips on youtube”, “Ask my teacher to review the subject again.”
3.In the section called “This Makes Me Feel”, you can circle as many or as few emojis that represent how this issue is making you feel.
4.Now, the fun part! After you’ve filled out the above 3 sections, you can give this form to the person whose opinion you want. Have your loved one, read through what you’ve written so far and they can use the “What Would You Do” portion to write down their thoughts and/or any advice they think may be helpful.
5.Once they’ve finished, you can go over the page to find the right solution together.
